Drivetrain

Polestar 3 Long Range Dual Motor Performance has an all-wheel drive system supported by two motors, one on each axle.

The front suspension is double wishbone, and the rear suspension is Multilink. It uses air suspension and hydraulic dampers. The suspension is fully adaptive on the front and rear axle, so height and damping can be adjusted manually and automatically. The minimum ground clearance is 181 mm, and the maximum is 241 mm.

Brakes

The rear and front brakes are cast-iron discs. The front discs are 400mm, and the rear discs are 390mm.

Regenerative braking is available in two modes. You can use one-pedal driving or you can coast and use the blended brakes to regen. You can choose between two stopping modes for one-pedal driving. Hold mode stops the car completely using friction brakes and creep mode will creep the car forward at low speed. You can adjust how strong regen you get when you lift the foot. There are two levels.

You can choose between two types of roofs on this model. As an option, you can order this model with a large panoramic roof extending from the front to the rear. This glass makes the car’s interior feel more spacious and bright, which can improve the mood and comfort of the occupant. The glass is toned to protect against heat from the sun.

Interior

The seat layout is the traditional five seats with two in front and three in the rear.

First row seats

Only one front seat type is available in the Polestar 3 Long Range Dual Motor Performance.

User interface and control

The Polestar 3 Long Range Dual Motor Performance has multiple integrated screens. Behind the steering wheel is a digital instrument cluster, and in the center console, there is one infotainment screen at the top of the center console. You can choose between two sound systems on the Polestar 3 Long Range Dual Motor Performance. With the High Performance, you get eight speakers with a max system output of 200 watts. With the Bowers & Wilkins, you get 25 speakers with a max system output of 1610 watts.

This frunk is 32 liters (1.1 CU FT). The maxium weight of the car is 3080 kg (6790 lbs), and with the base weight of 2600 kg (5732 lbs), you can max load 480 kg (1058 lbs), including driver and passengers. Some options can increase the base weight and reduce the maximum loading weight. 480kg is considered low for this type of car and might restrict how much stuff you can bring in addition to passengers.

You can order the car with a towbar. The maximum total weight on a braked trailer is 2200, and on unbraked, it is 750 kg (4850/1653 lbs).
