The BMW iX5 60 xDrive alongside these alternatives:
Performance
The BMW iX5 60 xDrive delivers a maximum power of 425 kW (578 hp / 570 bhp) and a total torque of 800 Nm (590 lb-ft). It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in 4.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 220 km/h (137 mph).
Battery, Range, and Charging
The battery has a gross capacity of 147.8 kWh and a net usable capacity of 141.0 kWh, with a 6.8 kWh buffer (4.6%) for battery protection. The battery operates at a nominal voltage of 800 V, supporting high-power DC charging.
The lithium-ion battery uses NMC (nickel manganese cobalt) chemistry.
Under the WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure) standard, the maximum rated range is 645 km (401 miles). Depending on the configuration and options such as wheel size, the rated range can be as low as 845 km (525 miles). Larger wheels generally increase energy consumption and reduce range.
WLTP energy consumption is 21.9 kWh/100 km for the base configuration and 16.7 kWh/100 km for the highest-consumption configuration.
For more details about the range, see real-world data and range listings on this model’s range and consumption page.
The vehicle supports fast DC charging with a maximum power of 460 kW. A 0–100% charge takes approximately 92 minutes. A typical 10–80% session takes about 24 minutes at an average power of 243 kW.
With five minutes of overhead per stop, the optimal charging window is 3–53%. Effective average power, including overhead, is 257 kW over a session lasting about 16 minutes and 27 seconds.
The BMW iX5 60 xDrive supports high-power DC charging.
In a 1000 km challenge at a constant speed of 120 km/h (75 mph) with an assumed consumption rate of 22 kWh/100 km, the trip would take about 8 hours and 38 minutes, needing one charging stops from 1% to 58%, totaling 19 minutes of charging time.
Onboard Charger
The standard onboard charger supports AC charging at up to 22 kW. A full 0–100% charge takes about 6 hours and 24 minutes with a suitable home charging setup.
Charge Port
The location of the charge port is on the right rear side. This placement makes it easy to use charging stations that require backing up to connect.
Connector types vary by market. This model uses NACS in North America and CCS Combo 2 in Europe. See the full specifications for market-specific details.
Bidirectional Charging
The model supports V2L (Vehicle to Load) and V2H (Vehicle to Home). V2L supplies up to 3.7 kW to external equipment or another EV. V2H can provide backup power to a compatible home system.
V2H requires compatible equipment in the home.
Drivetrain
