AITO (Adding Intelligence to Auto) is a premium electric vehicle brand launched in 2021 as a strategic collaboration between Chinese automaker Seres and technology giant Huawei. Seres handles vehicle manufacturing while Huawei contributes its DriveONE electric drivetrain, the Huawei Giant Whale 800V high-voltage platform, HarmonyOS for Auto infotainment, and the Qiankun ADS advanced driver-assistance system.
The brand's lineup consists exclusively of SUVs, ranging from the compact M5 through the mid-size M6 and M7 to the full-size M8 and flagship M9. Most models are offered in both pure battery electric (BEV) and extended-range electric (EREV) configurations, though EVKX tracks the BEV variants only. All BEVs share the 800V architecture with high-power DC charging, premium interiors with multi-screen displays and AR head-up displays, and standard LiDAR-equipped ADAS hardware.
AITO sells primarily through Huawei's extensive retail network in China — over 800 Huawei stores double as AITO showrooms — making it one of the most accessible premium EV brands in the country. The brand has rapidly become a top seller in the Chinese premium SUV segment, with the M9 in particular establishing itself as a flagship competitor to the Li MEGA, Yangwang U8, and BMW iX.
