Performance
The BMW iX3 has a maximum power of 210 kW (286 hp / 282 bhp) and a total torque of 400 Nm (295 lb-ft). It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in 6.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 180 km/h (112 mph).
BMW iX3
Battery, Range, and Charging
The battery has a gross capacity of 80.0 kWh and a net usable capacity of 73.9 kWh, with a 6.1 kWh buffer (7.6%) for battery protection. With a nominal voltage of 345 volts, the system is classified as a 400-volt battery system.
The lithium-ion battery uses NMC (nickel manganese cobalt) chemistry.
Under the WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure) standard, the maximum rated range is 461 km (287 miles). Depending on the configuration and options such as wheel size, the rated range can be as low as 453 km (282 miles). Larger wheels generally increase energy consumption and reduce range.
WLTP energy consumption is 16.0 kWh/100 km for the base configuration and 16.3 kWh/100 km for the highest-consumption configuration.
For more details about the range, see real-world data and range listings on this model’s range and consumption page.
The vehicle supports fast DC charging with a maximum power of 150 kW. A 0–100% charge takes approximately 62 minutes. A typical 10–80% session takes about 31 minutes at an average power of 101 kW.
With five minutes of overhead per stop, the optimal charging window is 1–61%. Effective average power, including overhead, is 100 kW over a session lasting about 26 minutes and 29 seconds.
In a 1000 km challenge at a constant speed of 120 km/h (75 mph) with an assumed consumption rate of 23 kWh/100 km, the trip would take about 9 hours and 53 minutes, needing four charging stops from 1% to 54%, totaling 94 minutes of charging time.
Onboard Charger
The standard onboard charger supports AC charging at up to 11 kW. A full 0–100% charge takes about 6 hours and 43 minutes with a suitable home charging setup.
Charge Port
The location of the charge port is on the right rear side. This placement makes it easy to use charging stations that require backing up to connect.
Drivetrain
The BMW iX3 has a rear-wheel drive system supported by one motor on the rear axle.
Suspension
The suspension system features a double-joint spring strut front construction and a multi-link rear construction. Both the front and rear dampers are electronically controlled, providing adaptive damping for improved ride comfort and handling. The front and rear springs are coil springs, offering a balance of comfort and performance.
The Standard suspension has steel springs with a fixed height, but you can adjust damping to fit your driving style or road condition.
Ground clearance with this setup is 179 mm.

Manual regeneration is another mode, where regenerative braking is controlled by pressing the brake pedal. The brake system blends in physical brakes only when necessary.
Another option is the Regen on Accelerator Pedal mode where regenerative braking is activated when the driver eases off the accelerator pedal. This system allows the vehicle to slow down and recover energy without the driver needing to press the brake pedal, a feature often referred to as one-pedal driving.
Drivers can also adjust the regenerative braking strength when lifting off the accelerator, choosing between three levels.
The maximum regenerative braking power is 134 kW.
Exterior
