Performance
The Hongqi E-HS9 Comfort has a maximum power of 320 kW (435 hp / 429 bhp) and a total torque of 300 Nm (221 lb-ft). It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in 6.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 200 km/h (124 mph).
Battery, Range, and Charging
The battery has a gross capacity of 84.0 kWh and a net usable capacity of 81.7 kWh, with a 2.3 kWh buffer (2.7%) for battery protection. With a nominal voltage of 350 volts, the system is classified as a 400-volt battery system.
The lithium-ion battery uses NMC (nickel manganese cobalt) chemistry.
According to the WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure) standard, the vehicle's range is 396 km (246 miles), with an energy consumption rate of 20.6 kWh/100 km (3.0 mi/kWh).

The vehicle supports fast DC charging with a maximum power of 135 kW. A 0–100% charge takes approximately 69 minutes. A typical 10–80% session takes about 33 minutes at an average power of 105 kW.
With five minutes of overhead per stop, the optimal charging window is 7–72%. Effective average power, including overhead, is 92 kW over a session lasting about 35 minutes and 38 seconds.
In a 1000 km challenge at a constant speed of 120 km/h (75 mph) with an assumed consumption rate of 32 kWh/100 km, the trip would take about 10 hours and 56 minutes, needing four charging stops from 6% to 79%, totaling 156 minutes of charging time.
Onboard Charger
The standard onboard charger supports AC charging at up to 11 kW. A full 0–100% charge takes about 7 hours and 25 minutes with a suitable home charging setup.
Charge Port
The location of the charge port is on the left front side. This location makes it easy to charge stations where you park side into the charger.

Drivetrain
The Hongqi E-HS9 Comfort features an all-wheel drive system powered by two motors, one on each axle.
The motors used are Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors.
Suspension
The suspension system features a double wishbone front construction and a multi-link rear construction. Both the front and rear dampers are electronically controlled. The front and rear springs are coil springs.
The Coil Spring Suspension suspension has steel springs with a fixed height but an optional damping adjustment.
Ground clearance with this setup is 200 mm.
Steering
Progressive steering is standard on the Hongqi E-HS9 Comfort. It adjusts the steering ratio according to vehicle speed.
Drive Modes
The Hongqi E-HS9 Comfort lets the user select different drive modes that affect the car's handling.
The driver can choose between 4 modes:
- Eco: Comfort steering and throttle.
- Comfort: Comfort steering and balanced throttle.
- Sport: Dynamic steering and throttle.

Brakes
The Hongqi E-HS9 Comfort is equipped with cast-iron disc brakes on both the front and rear.
Regenerative Braking
Automatic regeneration is not available in this model. However, regenerative braking is available through one-pedal driving combined with blended brakes.
The system stops the car completely using friction brakes.Drivers can also adjust the regenerative braking strength when lifting off the accelerator. There are four levels of regenerative braking to choose from, allowing you to customize the driving experience to your preference.
The maximum regenerative braking power is 100 kW.

The Hongqi E-HS9 Comfort offers multiple wheel options in different sizes. The available tire and wheel combinations include:

Narrower wheels reduce energy consumption and can increase range, while wider wheels can improve traction and handling.
The car has four regular doors and a liftgate.
The power liftgate includes hands-free opening by foot gesture as standard.
There is only one roof option for this model.
A panoramic glass roof covering most of the roof area, with an opening front section, is standard and makes the cabin feel brighter and more spacious. An electric sunshade helps protect occupants from direct sunlight.

The Hongqi E-HS9 Comfort features a screen-focused control interface with limited physical buttons and no stalks, providing a minimalist approach to vehicle controls. This design prioritizes touchscreen interaction, which may appeal to tech-savvy users but could be less intuitive for those accustomed to traditional controls.
Behind the steering wheel is a digital instrument cluster. In the center of the dashboard is an infotainment screen, and in the center console is a screen for the climate system. For the passenger, there is an infotainment screen.

The Hongqi E-HS9 Comfort does not have a head-up display. Speed and navigation information remain on the vehicle's other displays.

Steering Wheel
The Hongqi E-HS9 Comfort is equipped with a single type of steering wheel:

The standard headlights use LED Matrix technology. LED Matrix splits the headlight beam into dozens of small rays that the controller can turn on and off individually to selectively dim areas ahead. Corner lights illuminate the side when turning.

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems
The Hongqi E-HS9 Comfort offers standard and optional advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
Safety Systems
Anti-lock Braking System (ABS): Standard on the Hongqi E-HS9 Comfort. It prevents the wheels from locking during braking.
Electronic Stability Control (ESC): Standard on the Hongqi E-HS9 Comfort. It improves stability during sudden maneuvers and on slippery roads.
Lane-Keeping Assist (LKA): Standard on the Hongqi E-HS9 Comfort. It applies steering corrections if the vehicle begins to leave its lane.
The Lane Departure Warning alerts the driver if the vehicle begins to leave its lane.

Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB): Standard on the Hongqi E-HS9 Comfort. It applies the brakes automatically if the driver does not respond to an imminent collision.
Automatic Emergency Steering (AES): Optional on the Hongqi E-HS9 Comfort. The system can steer automatically to help avoid an imminent collision.
Blind-spot Monitoring (BSM): Standard on the Hongqi E-HS9 Comfort. It detects traffic in the vehicle's blind spots.
Exit Warning: Standard on the Hongqi E-HS9 Comfort. It warns occupants not to open a door when it detects approaching traffic or another hazard.
Driving Automation
The standard SACC SAE Level 2 system includes the following driving automation features:

- Lane Centering Assist (LCA) / AutoSteer: Centers the vehicle in its lane and adjusts speed in traffic. The driver must keep their hands on the steering wheel and remain attentive.

The trunk offers a cargo capacity of 225 liters (7.9 CU FT). With the third-row seat folded down, this expands to 622 liters (22.0 CU FT).
The maximum roof load is 100 kg (220.5 lb).
Optional roof rails are available for easy mounting of a roof box or rack.
The maximum permitted vehicle weight is 3130 kg (6900 lbs), and the base curb weight is 2505 kg (5523 lbs). This leaves a payload of 625 kg (1378 lbs), including occupants. Options can increase curb weight and reduce payload.
A towbar can be added to the vehicle. The maximum permissible weight for a braked trailer is 1500 kg (3307 lbs), while for an unbraked trailer, it is 750 kg (1653 lbs).

The Hongqi E-HS9 Comfort had its world premiere on 4/26/2020, with deliveries starting in January 2021.
