User interface and control

Two different screen setups are available on the Toyota bZ4X FWD.

The standard layout has the following configuration. Behind the steering wheel is a digital instrument cluster, and in the center console, there is one infotainment screen at the top of the center console. The touch screen behind the steering wheel integrated into the dashboard is 7.0 inches large. The touch screen at the top of the center console is 8.9 inches large.

The optional layout has the following configuration. Behind the steering wheel is a digital instrument cluster, and in the center console, there is one infotainment screen at the top of the center console. The touch screen behind the steering wheel integrated into the dashboard is 7.0 inches large. The touch screen at the top of the center console is 12.3 inches large. A head-up display is an optional system that presents speed and other important driver information in front of the driver on the windshield.

Infotainment

You can choose between two sound systems on the Toyota bZ4X FWD. With the Toyota, you get six speakers with a max system output of watts. With the JBL Premium Sound, you get nine speakers with a max system output of watts.

In addition, with the optional in-car navigation system, you get the help you need to find your destination. Furthermore, the Toyota bZ4X FWD supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. This functionality allows you to present your phone’s screen in the car’s screen so you can run apps like Google Maps or Waze.

Lights

You can choose between two types of headlights for the Toyota bZ4X FWD. The standard headlights use LED technology. Headlights based on LED Matrix technology are available as an option. LED Matrix is an adaptive system that splits the traditional single headlight beam into dozens of smaller rays that the light controller can turn on and off individually to un-light small areas in front. In addition, the standard taillights use LED technology.

Safety systems

The Toyota bZ4X FWD has an anti-lock braking system (ABS) as a standard system. This system helps to prevent a vehicle’s wheels from locking up during braking.

Forward Collision Warning is a standard driver assist system to help drivers avoid or mitigate frontal collisions.

The Toyota bZ4X FWD has automatic emergency braking as a standard system. This system helps prevent or mitigate collisions by applying the brakes autonomously if the driver fails to react to an impending collision.

Automatic emergency steering is a standard driver assist system designed to help drivers avoid collisions by automatically steering the vehicle in an emergency.

Blind-spot monitoring is an optional driver-assist system. This side assist system helps to detect traffic in blind spots.

Cargo Capacity and Towing Ability

The cargo capacity in the trunk is 452 liters. On the roof, you can load up to 80 kg (176.4 lbs). The maxium weight of the car is 2195 kg (4839 lbs), and with the base weight of 1945 kg (4288 lbs), you can max load 250 kg (551 lbs), including driver and passengers. Some options can increase the base weight and reduce the maximum loading weight. 250kg is considered low for this type of car and might restrict how much stuff you can bring in addition to passengers.

You can order the car with a towbar. The maximum total weight on a braked trailer is 750, and on unbraked, it is 750 kg (1653/1653 lbs).
