TOGG (Türkiye'nin Otomobili Girişim Grubu — "Turkey's Automobile Initiative Group") was launched on 25 June 2018 as a joint venture between five Turkish industrial groups — Anadolu Group, BMC, Kök Group, Turkcell and Zorlu Holding (each holding 19%) — together with the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB, 5%). The project was announced by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in November 2017 with the explicit goal of creating Turkey's first national automobile and a domestic mobility ecosystem built on Turkish intellectual property.
TOGG's product line opened in October 2022 with the T10X, a C-segment electric SUV designed in collaboration with Pininfarina and Turkish designer Murat Günak. The T10X is offered with a 52.4 kWh or 88.5 kWh battery, with a single rear motor producing 160 kW or a dual-motor all-wheel-drive version delivering 320 kW (435 hp) and 700 Nm. The second model, the T10F fastback sedan unveiled at CES 2024, shares the same battery and powertrain architecture and adds a longer 623 km WLTP-class range option. The company's roadmap calls for five distinct models by 2030, spanning SUVs, sedans and crossovers.
Headquartered in Gebze with its production facility in Gemlik, Bursa Province, TOGG operates a vertically integrated manufacturing approach that includes battery cell production through Siro — a 50/50 joint venture with China's Farasis Energy located adjacent to the vehicle assembly plant. The Gemlik facility was inaugurated in October 2022 as Turkey's first dedicated EV factory, with planned annual capacity of around 175,000 vehicles. TOGG also operates its own Trumore charging network across Turkey and is building out connected-car services through its in-house Smart Device platform.
After establishing itself in the Turkish home market, TOGG began European deliveries in 2024–2025 starting with Germany, with plans to enter additional EU markets and reach an export target of one million vehicles by the end of the decade. The brand positions itself as a value-oriented premium alternative to established European and Asian EV makers, leaning on Turkish engineering, software-defined-vehicle architecture and competitive pricing.
