The BYD Seal RWD has a maximum power of 230 kW (313 hp / 308 bhp) and a total torque of 360 Nm (266 lb-ft). It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in 5.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 180 km/h (112 mph).
Battery, Range, and Charging
The battery has a gross capacity of 85.4 kWh and a net usable capacity of 82.5 kWh, with a 2.9 kWh buffer (3.4%) for battery protection. The battery operates at a nominal voltage of 569 V, supporting high-power DC charging.
The lithium-ion battery uses LFP technology, which has different characteristics from typical NCA and NMC batteries.
According to the WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure) standard, the vehicle's range is 570 km (354 miles), with an energy consumption rate of 14.5 kWh/100 km (4.3 mi/kWh).

The vehicle supports fast DC charging with a maximum power of 150 kW. A 0–100% charge takes approximately 64 minutes. A typical 10–80% session takes about 35 minutes at an average power of 100 kW.
With five minutes of overhead per stop, the optimal charging window is 1–47%. Effective average power, including overhead, is 105 kW over a session lasting about 22 minutes and 39 seconds.
In a 1000 km challenge at a constant speed of 120 km/h (75 mph) with an assumed consumption rate of 25 kWh/100 km, the trip would take about 9 hours and 56 minutes, needing four charging stops from 0% to 51%, totaling 97 minutes of charging time.
Onboard Charger
The standard onboard charger supports AC charging at up to 11 kW. A full 0–100% charge takes about 7 hours and 30 minutes with a suitable home charging setup.
Charge Port
The location of the charge port is on the right rear side. This placement makes it easy to use charging stations that require backing up to connect.

Drivetrain
The BYD Seal RWD has a rear-wheel drive system supported by one motor on the rear axle.

Suspension
The suspension system features a double wishbone front construction and a multi-link rear construction. Both the front and rear dampers are electronically controlled. The front and rear springs are coil springs.
Steering
Progressive steering is standard on the BYD Seal RWD. It adjusts the steering ratio according to vehicle speed.
Drive Modes
The BYD Seal RWD lets the user select different drive modes that affect the car's handling.
The driver can choose between 4 modes:
- Eco: Comfort steering and throttle.
- Normal: Balanced steering and throttle.
- Sport: Dynamic steering and throttle.

The BYD Seal RWD is equipped with cast-iron disc brakes on both the front and rear.
The front discs measure 345 mm, while the rear discs are 320 mm.
Regenerative Braking
Automatic regeneration is not available in this model. However, regenerative braking is available through one-pedal driving combined with blended brakes.
At low speeds, the one-pedal drive mode will keep the car creeping forward.Drivers can also adjust the regenerative braking strength when lifting off the accelerator, choosing between two levels.
The maximum regenerative braking power is 200 kW.

The trunk offers a cargo capacity of 402 liters (14.2 cu ft).
The frunk (front trunk) has a capacity of 53 liters (1.9 cu ft).
The maximum permitted vehicle weight is 2501 kg (5514 lbs), and the base curb weight is 2155 kg (4751 lbs). This leaves a payload of 346 kg (763 lbs), including occupants. Options can increase curb weight and reduce payload.
This model is not available with a towbar and cannot tow a trailer.
