Air Suspension
A suspension system that uses air-filled bellows instead of traditional steel springs. Air suspension allows adjustable ride height, improved comfort, and can lower the vehicle at speed for better aerodynamics and efficiency.
Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV)
A vehicle powered entirely by an electric battery with no internal combustion engine. BEVs produce zero tailpipe emissions and are charged from external electricity sources.
Frunk (Front Trunk)
A storage compartment in the front of an EV where a combustion engine would normally be located. The frunk provides extra cargo space unique to electric vehicles.
One-Pedal Driving
A driving mode where lifting off the accelerator produces strong regenerative braking, allowing the driver to accelerate and stop using only one pedal in most situations.
Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV)
A vehicle that combines an electric motor and battery with a conventional internal combustion engine. PHEVs can drive a limited range on electricity alone before the engine takes over.
Regenerative Braking
A system that recovers kinetic energy during deceleration by using the electric motor as a generator, converting motion back into electricity stored in the battery.
Torque Vectoring
A system that distributes driving torque independently between wheels to improve cornering, stability, and traction. EVs with dual motors can implement torque vectoring electronically.
