The lithium-ion battery uses NCA technology.

The vehicle supports fast DC charging with a maximum power of 250 kW. A 0–100% charge takes approximately 81 minutes. A typical 10–80% session takes about 31 minutes at an average power of 129 kW.
With five minutes of overhead per stop, the optimal charging window is 7–47%. Effective average power, including overhead, is 141 kW over a session lasting about 16 minutes and 23 seconds.
In a 1000 km challenge at a constant speed of 120 km/h (75 mph) with an assumed consumption rate of 24 kWh/100 km, the trip would take about 9 hours and 22 minutes, needing four charging stops from 8% to 46%, totaling 62 minutes of charging time.

Drivetrain
The Tesla Model X Plaid has an all-wheel drive system supported by three motors. One on front axle, and two on rear axle.

Suspension
The Tesla Model X Plaid features a double wishbone front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension, both with electronically controlled dampers and air springs.

A towbar is standard. Maximum towing capacity is 2250 kg (4960 lb) for a braked trailer and 750 kg (1653 lb) for an unbraked trailer.

This model had a world premiere on 1/27/2021, and deliveries started in October 2021. This model has now been discontinued.
