Friction Braking

Friction braking slows a vehicle by pressing pads or shoes against rotating brake surfaces and converting kinetic energy into heat.

Its role in an EV

An EV still needs friction brakes for emergency stops, low-speed operation, holding, stability intervention, and any time regenerative braking is restricted by battery, motor, traction, or temperature limits. EV friction brakes and brake blending
