Drive Mode
A drive mode is a selectable set of software calibrations that changes how fitted vehicle systems respond to the driver, road, and operating conditions.
Main mode families
- Normal or Comfort balances response, energy use, ride, and intervention thresholds for everyday driving.
- Eco, Efficiency, or Range can soften accelerator response, limit climate demand or speed, favor efficient motor use, and change regeneration.
- Sport, Dynamic, or Performance can sharpen response and alter damping, steering effort, torque distribution, cooling, and stability-control thresholds.
- Snow, Slippery, or Off-road can soften torque delivery and recalibrate wheel-slip, braking, regeneration, ride height, and descent control for a defined surface.
- Individual or Custom lets the driver combine supported settings instead of using one fixed package.
Mode names are not standardized. The same label can control different systems in different vehicles, and a selected mode cannot create hardware that is not installed. Heavier steering does not add tyre grip, firmer damping does not change a fixed spring rate, and a sharper accelerator map does not necessarily increase maximum power.
A mode may coordinate propulsion, Regenerative Braking, EV Suspension, Electronic Stability Control, climate, battery thermal management, displays, and driver-assistance availability. Safety and component-protection limits still override the requested calibration.
