Het afgegeven vermogen is het vermogen dat het laadstation levert. Energie naar de accu is wat er daadwerkelijk aankomt: ongeveer 5% gaat onderweg verloren als warmte en door omzettingsverliezen, en de laadtijden worden berekend op basis van deze lagere hoeveelheid energie. Energie gedeeld door tijd levert daarom een waarde op die ongeveer 5% lager is dan de kolom met het afgegeven vermogen van het laadstation.
