Blade Battery

Blade Battery is a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) traction-battery design developed by BYD. It uses long, flat prismatic cells arranged directly in the pack rather than in conventional intermediate modules. The name describes BYD’s product architecture, not a separate battery chemistry. How it is built

BYD arranges the blade-shaped cells in an array where they also contribute to pack strength. Removing module housings can leave more of the pack volume available for cells and reduce inactive structure. The result still depends on cooling, electrical connections, enclosure design, crash protection, manufacturing quality, and the battery-management system. What the name does not tell you

LFP describes the cathode chemistry, prismatic describes the cell format, and cell-to-pack describes the packaging architecture. These terms are related but not interchangeable. An LFP battery does not automatically use blade cells, and a cell-to-pack design does not have to be a BYD Blade Battery.
