Battery Warranty
Battery warranty is contractual coverage for specified defects in an EV's high-voltage battery, excessive capacity loss, or both, subject to written conditions.
What the coverage means
Defect coverage and a capacity guarantee are not the same promise. A battery can retain more than a stated capacity threshold and still have a covered fault in a cell group, sensor, contactor, or another defined component. Conversely, gradual ageing may remain outside the capacity remedy until the warranty's own threshold and test method are met.
Time, distance, exclusions, covered components, transferability, measurement methods, and remedies vary by market, model year, and manufacturer. Displayed range or an unexplained third-party State of Health (SoH) value is not automatically the warranty measurement.
