Turning Circle
Turning circle describes the minimum circular space a vehicle needs to complete a full turn at maximum steering lock. Manufacturers usually publish a diameter, although the term is sometimes used imprecisely for a radius.
Kerb-to-kerb and wall-to-wall
A kerb-to-kerb value follows the path near the tyres. A wall-to-wall value includes the bodywork's wider sweep and is normally larger. Two figures cannot be compared fairly unless they use the same method.
Wheelbase matters, but it is only one input. Steering angle, tyre clearance, track width, driven-axle layout, and rear-wheel steering can change the result. An EV platform therefore does not automatically produce a small turning circle. Some vehicles may also limit steering geometry with particular wheel and tyre packages.
Check whether the specification is a diameter or radius and whether it is measured kerb-to-kerb or wall-to-wall. Real manoeuvring also needs clearance for mirrors, corners, obstacles, and driver positioning, so the published circle is not a complete parking-space requirement.
