Support Legs, Top Tether, and Other Child-Seat Anti-Rotation Systems

Support legs, top tethers, and other anti-rotation systems limit child-seat rotation around anchorages. Their design must suit the restraint and vehicle.

Common arrangements

A support leg braces against an approved vehicle-floor contact area, while a top tether connects the upper restraint to an anchorage. Other approved arrangements can use different geometry. These systems are not interchangeable; floor compartments and incorrect attachment points can affect compatibility. See Child Restraints and Seat Safety.
