Recycled Content, Recyclability, Bio-Based, and Biodegradable Materials
Last modified: Aug 05, 2026
Recycled content describes recovered material used to make a part, recyclability concerns whether that part can be processed again, bio-based identifies biological feedstock, and biodegradable describes breakdown under stated conditions. None of these claims proves the others, lower life-cycle impact or practical vehicle recycling; percentages, product scope, test methods and disposal conditions should be explicit; see Interior Materials, Air Quality, and Circularity.
