Pneumatic seat systems, dynamic bolsters, and seat massage use related hardware for different functions. Pneumatic systems control inflatable air cells to shape the cushion or backrest; dynamic bolsters change lateral support with the driving situation; massage cycles cells or actuators to vary pressure; a shared compressor or air-cell network does not make the functions equivalent, and availability, adjustment range, and programs vary; see Seat Adjustment, Comfort Features, and Safety.
