H-Point, Seating Reference Point, and Seating Geometry
Last modified: Aug 05, 2026
H-point, seating reference point, and seating geometry describe different vehicle-package references. The H-point is measured with a standardized occupant-shaped device on the loaded seat, while the seating reference point (SgRP or R-point) is the manufacturer's design position; geometry referenced to them can locate seats, belts, and restraint zones consistently but does not prove comfort or fit for every occupant; see Child Restraints and Seat Safety.
