Compatibility and power limits
In China, the ChaoJi-derived large-power DC interface is standardized as GB/T 20234.4-2023. It is physically distinct from the established GB/T 20234.3 DC interface and from the original CHAdeMO vehicle connector. ChaoJi is designed for high voltage and high current with liquid-cooled implementations possible, but the connector's design ceiling is not the charging power every vehicle or station delivers. Real power is limited by charger hardware, cable cooling, battery voltage, the vehicle's charge curve, temperature, and site capacity.
Adapters or dual-standard equipment may be possible in specific implementations, but support must be verified for the exact vehicle, charger, market, and protocol combination. ChaoJi should not be treated as another name for legacy GB/T DC or CHAdeMO.
