360-Degree Camera
A 360-degree camera system creates a composite view of the area immediately around the vehicle to help with parking and low-speed maneuvering. It normally combines images from several wide-angle cameras mounted at the front, rear, and sides.
What it does
Software corrects lens distortion and stitches the camera feeds into a simulated overhead view. The driver may select alternative angles, zoom near a wheel, or see dynamic guidelines. The image is not recorded by a real camera above the car, so seams, stretched objects, and blind areas can appear.
Dirty lenses, darkness, glare, rain, snow, camera damage, calibration errors, and objects outside the covered near range can reduce accuracy. A person or obstacle may be hidden or distorted, especially close to a stitching boundary. The driver must continue checking mirrors, windows, sensors, and the direction of travel.
